We had a great time this month with two visitors, Nettie and Flo, who are embroidery conservators and had been given a 16th century beaded box to conserve. We saw some really interesting pictures of it’s current state and the parts awaiting restoration. The ladies managed to pick up some of the stitches they will need and also got lots of advice on matching beads etc. from Karen. It was fascinating to see another side to our hobby.
Many thanks to Karen for joining us, and we look forward to seeing Anne-Marie next month. There was a good showing on the table this month as Annette brought in her Angels which could have filled it on their own. We also had a witch and some pumpkins to celebrate Halloween and some lovely items in autumn colours.
The theme for next month is, whisper it, Christmas, so let’s see how many of us have actually got things done in good time!
